Our HCAs deliver a high level of care and are supported to continuouslydevelop in line with the RCGP HCA (General Practice) Competency Framework.
This post is a permanent contract on hours per week.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will offer generalassistance to the Practice clinicalteam, liaising closely with the Practice NurseLead.
The HCA will be involved primarily in:
- Assisting in the provision of a phlebotomy service
- The management of laboratory samples forthe Practice
- Undertaking well person checks
- Urinalysis
- ECG recording
- Chaperoning patients
- Cleaning and sterilising instruments and equipment
- Maintenance of equipment, including keeping recordsof when externalchecks are due, calibration
- The daily recording of refrigerator temperatures
- Ordering of stock and re-stocking clinical rooms
- Simple dressings
The HCA will also be responsible for:
- Documenting patient consultations in theclinical system
- Maintaining appropriate recordsto ensure continuity and quality of carefor patients
- Involvement in Practice development, identifying servicechanges and in line with clinical needs locally
- Maintaining records of appointments, financial transactions, and other administrative duties
- Maintaining skills at the currentlevel and undertaking such training and development as required to maintain personalcompetency
- Participation in all activities required byCQC registration
