Job summary

The post holder's primary focus is on developing a Trainee Nursing Associate workforce across all UHB sites. The post holder will ensure staff are equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to provide consistent high quality, safe care in partnership with others to patients within the associated practice settings. The post holder will be integral to the design, development, co-ordination and delivery of the Trainee Nursing Associate programme. The post holder will be a visible role model, providing clinical support to TNA's. 80% of the post holders time will be spent in the clinical environment. The post holder will work in line with the Knowledge of Standards for student supervision and assessment NMC 2018.

Main duties of the job

To assist in the provision of support for candidates registered on the Trainee Nursing Associate programme. The post holder will be required to work across-site providing support for trainees in both the acute and community setting. To work in conjunction with other Educators to promote and support the delivery of a range of generic and bespoke learning activities for new and existing Trainee Nursing Associates. To support the co-ordination, facilitation and delivery of induction programmes for Trainee Nursing Associates to meet the organisation's current and future workforce needs. To support learners to overcome barriers to learning and provide opportunities to develop knowledge and skills.

Qualifications

Essential

* Registered Nurse on the NMC Register * Qualified Nurse who has been trained as a (Gold Kudos/ equivalent) Practice Supervisor and Practice Assessor in accordance with NMC standards * Continuing professional development

Desirable

* Level 5 Diploma in Education, Training and Learning

Experience

Essential

* Significant experience working as Registered Nurse in an acute healthcare setting * Evidence of working in a multi-disciplinary and cross agency work environment under appropriate supervision as part of a multi-disciplinary team * Experience of providing and receiving complex sensitive information * Evidence of training, assessing, supervising and developing staff in providing nursing care * Recent experience of supporting/ facilitating learning * Understanding and acts within NMC professional standards of practice contained within the NMC code of conduct * Understanding of the principles of safeguarding and Mental Capacity * Awareness of health and safety issues * Has knowledge in relation to the parameters and scope of practice in which the post holder should work and when to seek advice and support/ escalate of others for expert help and advice. * Knowledge of Standards for student supervision and assessment NMC 2018 * Understanding on learning methods

Desirable

* Experience of working with multiple internal and external education stakeholders * Can demonstrate an understanding of the elements associated with NMC Revalidation * National workforce priorities
