OVERVIEW
Balyasny Asset Management is seeking a Manager to lead its Data Quality initiative, within our industry-leading Data Intelligence Group. As the manager, you will oversee all aspects of data quality across Equities, Macro, Commodities, and Credit strategies. This pivotal role demands a visionary leader who will be the driving force behind ensuring impeccable data quality across a diverse range of asset classes, including Equities, Macro, Commodities, and Credit strategies.
Your mission will be to spearhead the establishment of rigorous standards and best practices for data quality measurement and management. You will empower the firm’s data and trading teams by providing expert guidance in the development and implementation of robust quality checks, and you will take charge of the intricate business logic that underpins the detection and resolution of data discrepancies.
Collaborating closely with BAM’s data engineering teams, you will be instrumental in refining and scaling our data quality frameworks to seamlessly align with the dynamic requirements of our business stakeholders.
As the Manager of the Data Quality team, you will:
Craft and enforce comprehensive standards for data quality measurement and management across all market data domains. Provide expert support to trading and data teams in the analysis, development, and implementation of data quality checks, as well as in the management of business logic for the identification and rectification of data anomalies. Assemble and lead a top-tier team of global data analysts dedicated to the meticulous analysis, measurement, and correction of data quality issues. Forge a strong partnership with the firm’s Data Platform and engineering teams to advance the firm’s data quality infrastructure and tooling. Engage with senior stakeholders and Business Heads to ensure data quality standards and procedures are perfectly attuned to the business's strategic objectives.QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 6 years of professional experience at the helm of data quality teams or in comparable roles, with a track record of managing international teams being highly regarded Expertise in financial markets, including pricing and reference data A proven history of establishing and refining data quality processes aimed at the measurement, governance, and remediation of data quality issues Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation using Python and SQL Exposure to data quality tools or open-source solutions such as Great Expectations Exceptional problem-solving skills, coupled with a knack for innovative thinking An unwavering commitment to precision and a meticulous eye for detail Outstanding communication skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences effectivelyWith respect to NY- and CA-based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between $200000 and $250000 annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
