Overview
Responsible for the day-to-day performance of the UK finance department, including developing and maintaining internal controls, supporting the move to automation and presenting the results of the UK finance department to the UK Finance Director and the wider executive team. In the role you will lead and develop a team of circa 7 reports.
Qualifications
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 5+ years PQE. Several years' experience in a finance environment with a thorough knowledge of accounting processes and procedures. Experience in producing and analysing financial reports including management accounts, forecasts, budgets as well as day-to-day accounting. Experience with systems migration, integration and enhancement. Management experience with good leadership and interpersonal skills. Excellent organisational ability and able to carry out critical thinking and problem-solving. Someone who is motivated, proactive and excited to drive change and improvement. Very analytical with experience of database tools like Power BI anda rigorous attention to detail. High standard of computer skills including MS Office and accounting systems. In-depth knowledge and experience of budgeting and financial forecasting. Emphasis will be placed on the PRG core values, attached to this document.
Responsibilities
Managing all day-to-day finance activities, including but not limited to billing, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, cashflows, payroll, project accounting and cost and revenue recognition. Ensure all transactions and projects are recorded and accounted for appropriately, with variances understood and explained. Create, oversee and review the regular monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports, including management accounts, cashflow forecasts, profit and loss forecasts and other financial statements. Prepare and coordinate annual budgeting process. Streamline and improve financial accounting systems and operations. Maximising the benefits of tools like Power BI to streamline day-to-day processes. Present financial reports and variances on a timely and accurate basis, including reasons for major variances to the Finance Director and support the presentation to and manage the expectations of stakeholders. Supporting the Finance Director and the wider business in making the right commercial decisions based on credible, reliable and timely financial information. Manage and motivate the finance team including supporting training and succession planning. Document business processes and accounting policies to maximise internal controls. Working with a dynamic commercial team. Ensure compliance with all appropriate tax and regulatory requirements of the business. Overseeing and supporting the audit process. Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.-
