Newall Measurement systems is a global supplier of high-quality and high-performance digital readout systems (DRO) and linear feedback encoders.

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Leicester based team. This is a great opportunity to work in and learn all aspects of the production environment within a technology bases manufacturing company.

The role will be very varied and training will be offered for all required aspects of the role to support this.

General Responsibilities
• Implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacturing or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies
• Collaborates with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products
• Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines
• Organizes records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations
• Key participant in planning and designing manufacturing processes in an industrial plant
• Organizes the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation in support of manufacturing operations such as machining, metal forming, plastics processing, welding and brazing, assembly, and material handling

Experience / Qualifications
• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Must be a team player able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Holds self-accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers

Specific Skills and Experience

Relevant engineering qualification and work experience within a practical engineering environment Understanding of mechanical and/or electronic fault finding. Either pneumatic or electrical fault finding an advantage. Willingness to learn new skills and enhance your existing skillset to achieve the regular training and development goals. Ability to improve a production process by either concept or design of new jigging and fixtures. Diligent in nature and strong eye for detail and understand the importance of checking your work rigorously

We are seeking candidates who live within 1 hours travel time of our Leicester office. With some working knowledge of manufacturing environment and genuine interest in the industry.
