London, United Kingdom Interpath Advisory Full time

Interpath Advisory is a financial advisory business with a broad range of specialisms that was formed to allow our people to do what they do best in an agile, independent and conflict-free setting. Its market-leading restructuring department is the largest independent team in the UK. Interpath was previously part of KPMG, before being sold to private equity firm HIG Capital on 4 May 2021.

Following the change in ownership, Interpath continues to go through an exciting journey of rapid growth throughout the UK and internationally.  In addition to geographical expansion, we have also expanded our transaction services, M&A / corporate finance and debt advisory teams, as well as a number of other deal advisory teams.

The Senior Associate, Case Administrator is dedicated to delivering corporate insolvency engagements, with a focus on statutory and reporting aspects of insolvency case work. As a senior associate in this team, you will be responsible for a portfolio of corporate cases dealing predominantly with statutory and technical aspects of the insolvency process. This role is aimed at individuals with existing experience in insolvency case work who are eager to progress their career in a client facing role in a lively, stimulating and busy environment working under pressure and to deadlines.

The Team

The restructuring practice has over 500 staff in 11 offices around the UK.  We work with businesses in financial stress, distress and in insolvency across all sectors and in all locations across the UK.

We provide a number of service lines, including:

  • restructuring advice to companies who are under performing or experiencing liquidity problems, and/or to their key stakeholders;
  • accelerated M&A advice through the acquisition or sale of companies with a need for turnaround;
  • turnaround support (including cost reduction and working capital improvement);
  • options reviews to help businesses and/or their stakeholders take the correct action;
  • cash forecasting & management;
  • advice to trustees of defined benefit pension schemes, where a funding deficit requires to be met by the sponsoring employer; and
  • all forms of corporate insolvency appointments to entities from sole traders to partnerships, limited companies and PLCs.

There will also be the opportunity to work with our wider UK team on insolvency assignments, often on some of the highest profile businesses in the UK.

Key Accountabilities:

  • work alongside case managers and engagement leaders to provide support on corporate insolvency engagements;
  • have ownership of a portfolio of cases, with responsibility for proactive case progression and statutory compliance;
  • ensure all correspondence is responded to and queries dealt with effectively;
  • prepare correspondence, minutes, file notes, emails, letters, schedules and analysis;
  • prepare budgets for an engagement or aspect of an engagement for case manager review;
  • prepare VAT returns and supporting analysis;
  • assist the case manager with statutory and other reports;
  • assist with on the job training and development of less experienced case administrators;
  • explain routine technical matters to other colleagues, including senior staff or clients;
  • process receipts, arrange payment of invoices and complete any journals needed;
  • interact with the appointees, appointers, directors, creditors, employees, and other relevant stakeholders;
  • ensure all statutory and Interpath best practice requirements are adhered to and compliance deadlines are achieved;
  • participate in discussions on development and improving our business;
  • participate in occasional marketing events to develop an internal and external network of contacts;
  • attend to any other administrative tasks required by the role.

Requirements

  • You will be interested in progressing a career in insolvency with existing case administrator experience, ideally with a statutory and technical background.
  • You will have a willingness to learn quickly and operate as part of a team.
  • Interest in commercial and financial matters and be able to demonstrate practical common sense and commercial awareness.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Able to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple assignments simultaneously whilst ensuring that deadlines are met.
  • Consistently demonstrate a professional manner.
  • You will have the ability to assess the various alternatives for dealing with specific case issues and present suggestions to the case manager and team members.
  • You will be willing to travel on occasion and work from your chosen home office and from time-to-time work from a client site as required.
  • You will have a good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (including Outlook, Excel, Word and Powerpoint) and ideally be an experienced user of IPS.

We would welcome applicants with existing insolvency case administrator experience. Additionally, Interpath supports flexible working and we would therefore welcome applications from candidates who wish to work flexibly or part-time.
