We are recruiting for an experienced AreaManager in the Ayrshire area with Petrol Station Forecourtexperience.

To ensure the implementation of thecompanies policies and procedures in respect of a predeterminedregion of company owned stations.

  • EachArea Manager is responsible for the overall profitability ofcompany owned stations.
  • This is a field basedposition where the Area Manager operates a given area which may besubject to change from time to time. Duties may require nights awayfrom home to carry out area duties and attendmeetings.
  • Area Managers are required tocommunicate with nominated suppliers and various third parties asand when required.
  • To ensure that all stationsare operated in accordance with the Companies Health & Safetypolicies to create a safe environment for staff andcustomers.
  • To ensure the security of theCompanies property.
  • To carry out monthly fuelaudits at each station in order to ensure the correct payments ofmonies and security of the Companies fuelstocks.
  • To carry out regular Shop and ForecourtReviews at each station to ensure that they are operating withinthe Companies policies and procedures and to their maximumpotential.
  • To manage and monitor performance ofStore Managers and staff at each station and ensure that goodcustomer practice is carried outconsistently.
  • To ensure that each station isapplying the correct fuel retail prices as instructed from time totime so as to maximise fuel profit margins.
  • Toensure effective and correctly merchandised promotional activitywithin the shop and forecourt so as to maximise sales and increasecustomer base.
  • To monitor and review theproduct range at each station with a view to increasing turnoverand profitability.
  • To monitor and reviewCompany expenditure for each relevant station and area to ensurethe accurate recording of information and to identify areas ofimprovement.
  • To handle complaints fromcustomers and ensure satisfactory follow up with the customer andany necessary retraining requirements arecompleted.
  • To liaise with outside contractorsto establish and manage all maintenance issues as well asmonitoring all equipment downtime.
  • To supportand carry out duties as instructed from time to time from therelevant line manager(s).
  • Ensure all StoreManagers complete all required duties within the stated timescalesand submit returns promptly and accurately.
  • Tosupervise give guidance and motivate Store Managers through the useof station reviews and audits to enable them to promote asuccessful business. To carry out subsequent visits as and whennecessary to monitor progress.
  • Within theCompany Liaise with all relevant head office departments as andwhen necessary in order to resolve any operational or otherissues.
  • Outside the Company To liaise withsuppliers and ensure delivery procedures are adheredto.
  • To liaise with Petroleum OfficersEnvironmental Health Officers Fairbanks Licensing and otherofficials where necessary.
  • To visit competitorsto keep abreast of their activity.
  • A proventrack record in the forecourt and/or retailsector.
  • High self motivation and disciplineoutstanding communication skills ability to work demanding hoursand prioritise duties.
  • A good people managerwith ability to inspire motivate and lead ateam.
  • A good level of numeracy and attention todetail.
  • To operate effectively and efficientlyand achieve given objectives within given timedeadlines.
