An exciting and rare opportunity has become open within our nursery. We are recruiting a Senior Practitioner to join our enthusiastic team in providing high quality childcare for children 6 weeks-5 years.

The position is full time (40 hours) Monday-Friday with shifts rotated on a weekly basis between the hours of 7.30am-6pm; based in our 3-5 year old playroom.

**As a Senior Practitioner at Marina View Nursery your main responsibilities are**:

- To deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged from 6 weeks to 5 years.
- To help ensure that Marina View Nursery is a safe environment for children, staff and others.
- To develop effective partnerships with parents and to increase their involvement in their child’s development
- To be responsible for any tasks delegated by the Nursery Manager.
- To deputise for the Nursery Manager as and when required.
- A safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, both indoors and outdoors, which fosters curiosity, creativity and challenge at all times.
- Use accurate and effective use of assessment which reflects the interests, needs and developmental stages of individual children.
- To understand and work to Marina View’s nursery policies and procedures, including how to deal with child protection issues appropriately and how to respond to incidents, accidents, complaints and emergencies
- To plan experiences which ensure each child is working towards the early learning outcomes.
- Use self-evaluation to identify areas for improvement.
- To ensure records are properly maintained, e.g. daily attendance register, accident and incident book, risk assessments
- To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed, in accordance with Marina View’s aims and objectives in liaison with senior management.
- Hold one of the following qualifications: HNC Childhood Practice _or_ HNC Childcare and Education _or_ HNC Early Education and Childcare
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within an Early Years Setting; experience in a senior role would be advantageous but not essential.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £12.00-£12.75 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends
