Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Trainer to support the induction, education and training needs of non-registered staff within stroke services across QMC and City successful candidate will be passionate about supporting the training and development needs of healthcare assistants. You will have at least 3 years experience caring for patients following a stroke. You will need to have acute hospital experience.

You will work collaboratively with the ward managers and clinical educator within stroke services to support new starters through their induction process as well as supporting / developing existing team members. You will also be working collaboratively within the wider CST network.

You will support team members in the completion and marking of their care certificates and other role related packages.

This is a role that actively supports the education, training and development of non-registered staff within stroke services.

You will work as a key member of the team alongside the ward managers and clinical educators to support a robust induction process for non-registered staff across services at both QMC and City hospital. Alongside this you will support the acquisition of clinical skills for the existing non-registered workforce and enabling them to provide safe and effective care alongside the wider multi-disciplinary team.

The post holder will be based across both QMC and City campus.

You will support the delivery of in house training events and activities to support meeting local and divisional needs.

You will work collaboratively with the wider divisional education team to support division wide training needs.

You will support the HCA academy on a rotational basis with other Clinical support trainers across the organisation.

Support HCA staff with demonstration of appropriate completion of documentation, sharing of policies and procedures, act as a role model for the provision of high standards of stroke specific care.

Training and Qualifications

Essential

Maths and English GCSE grade A-C/4-9 or equivalent ( functional skills level 2) Care certificate Completed NUH role development packages: ECG, venepuncture and cannulation Basic ICT skills and ability to use trust ICT programmes Demonstrate a commitment to learning Demonstrate commitment to maintaining up-to-date mandatory training

Desirable

Evidence of CPD and personal development Teaching and assessing qualification NVQ/QCF level 3 in health and social care or level 3 apprenticeship evidence of additional role related training: back care assessor, medical devices ATA

Experience

Essential

Clinical working within an acute hospital environment Experience working within stroke services Evidence of supporting colleagues/new starters Experience in teaching/training colleagues Evidence of working to a high standard and delivering excellent patient care
