Job Description

HR Business Partner, Sysco London

You will work as a true business partner to the leadership team for Sysco’s largest European site at Hemel Hempstead. You’ll be responsible for shaping and delivering the strategic People Plan for the site, as well as ensuring the delivery of a day-to-day HR service. 

Initially you will be working with the team who are developing and delivering the network strategy, to ensure that the site is set up for a successful launch and ramp up of service. Post this phase you will working with the site leadership team to ensure that Sysco London delivers excellent operational performance and service that continues to enable growth in the South East of England. 

You will be able to: 

Develop and drive the overall HR strategy and plan for Sysco London to ensure strong alignment with the SC & Ops strategy.  Work with the site leadership team to actively build the culture and engaging colleague experience on site.  Work with the leaders within Sysco London to assess and develop their leadership capability.  Be accountable for the quality of talent and succession planning for the site, leading the education of line managers and ensuring all business-critical roles have strong succession plans and talent pipelines in place.  Provide coaching, advice and guidance on people matters to ensure business decisions are driven with people at the forefront.  Be accountable for ensuring line managers are reviewing and operating exceptional performance management processes within the area and identifies areas for improvement to deliver results.  Review and identify learning and development needs for the site and propose activities to address these, creating business cases for justifying spend where necessary.  Work with the senior leadership teams to identify and deal with tactical and longer-term reward issues.  Work closely with a Finance counterpart to ensure business area runs to budget and agreed headcount on people-related expenditure.  Manage, coach and guide the on-site HR team to ensure, ensuring best practice is followed.  Establish excellent relationships with other members of the HR teams to ensure a seamless service to the business area, holds others to account and delivers on promises.  Work closely with a Resourcing Business Partner to ensure great quality talent is brought into the business and longer-term resourcing needs are understood and planned for.  Be accountable for ensuring colleague opinion surveys are completed and action plans are created and delivered. 

About you:

We’re looking for someone who is CIPD qualified to minimum level 5 and either working towards or willing to work towards level 7 and has experience of working within a generalist HR environment with senior stakeholders. Sound and up to date knowledge of employment legislation and law and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with demanding stakeholders is essential. This is a very fast-paced environment, and we need someone who can think on their feet, make good decisions and take ownership for their area of accountability, as well as be a true partner to the business. You’ll demonstrate drive, resilience, a desire to get things done, and juggle multiple priorities and stakeholder groups at once. A great role for a HR Professional with a commercially astute character who is a real agent of change and making a positive impact.
