A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the growing Mental Health and Learning Disability (MHLD) Practice Education and Development Team for a Band 6 Practice Educator (PE). For a year duration in the first instance.

The PE role will provide support to students, learners and staff within the division. The post requires the development and maintenance of a learning environment where both education and lifelong learning are seen as integral to practice. The role aims to enhance the quality of the practice learning experience and positively contribute to the future nursing/midwifery workforce in line with local and national directives.

The successful post-holder will be a 1st level registered nurse with experience in the field of mental health and learning disability nursing at Band 5 level including supervising undergraduate nurses. Evidence of leadership skills and supporting others in practice is essential as are great communication skills. You should have excellent care values and a strong sense of team spirit coupled with a sense of humour. Enthusiasm to work, learn and develop self and colleagues within the exciting and challenging high pressure environment of mental health and learning disability nursing. You will be dynamic and forward thinking in your approach and focused on providing safe, efficient and person centred care
