A Band 6 Deputy Sisters/Early pregnancy Specialist Nurse post has become available in our unit. If you want to work within a supportive and challenging environment assisting the doctors to provide care for women with a wide range of gynaecological conditions then this could be the position for you. The successful candidate will both deputising for the Ward Manager alongside working as early pregnancy specialist Nurse and run our EPA clinic, the only one for the north of the county.

the post holder will need to demonstrate Early Pregnancy knowledge and willing to under specific trainings and competencies.

Main duties of the job

You will be expected to work as part of a team in order to assist the doctors with diagnostic procedures and facilitate the efficient running of clinics. You will required to assist in the running of specialised clinics such a our 2 week wait hysteroscopy, our colposcopy clinics supporting clinicians carry out treatments following abnormal smears and our general gynaecology clinics that include urogynaecology and endometriosis clinics. This role covers a wide variety of services within women's health.

You will need to be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate and move forward a team of nurses to optimise and enhance patient care. You should be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of health care delivery and a patient centred approach to care.

To be successful, you will need to be a qualified RN with a valid NMC registration. You will also need the appropriate skills in communication, organisation, leadership, and some HR experience. You must have excellent customer care, communication and interpersonal skills and be flexible and able to adapt to and support change.

Job description

Job responsibilities

You will be part of the nursing team to support the department sister in the running of the unit. You will assist in the maintenance of the patient environment in terms of cleanliness, tidiness, auditing, and the restocking and ordering of supplies. You will be part of the team also supporting our Pre op assessment nurses to carry out assessments on our patients that fit certain criteria following out patient hysteroscopy being booked for general anaesthetic

You will act as a role model for junior team members in the delivery of a consistent high standard of nursing practice within the Team.

You will deputise for the Senior Sister / Charge Nurse and will support the leadership and management of the unit with particular emphasis on quality and clinical standards.
