Procurement Manager Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in negotiation with suppliers, contract management, problem-solving, and sourcing materials.

As ReAgent’s Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth purchasing of materials, optimising costs, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers. You will also be responsible for a team.


The successful candidate should possess qualifications such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) certification to excel in this position.


Procurement Manager Responsibilities:


● Supplier negotiation and relationship management

○ Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.

○ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.

○ Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or service.

● Contract management

○ Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and

legal requirements.

○ Implement contract changes and manage contract renewals.

○ Maintain a repository of all contracts and agreements.

● Material sourcing

○ Source and evaluate new suppliers and materials to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.

○ Stay updated on industry trends and new products.

○ Collaborate with the technical team to understand material specifications and requirements.

● Team leadership

○ Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team, fostering a positive and productive work

environment.

○ Assign tasks and responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide feedback.

○ Create and implement development programmes to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.


Procurement Manager Qualifications:


CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent would be advantageous.


Procurement Manager Skills and Competencies:


  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager or in a similar role within the chemical industry, with technical knowledge of chemistry and the application of chemicals.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a track record of securing advantageous terms and pricing agreements.
  • Experience in contract management, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements related to chemical procurement.
  • Ability to lead a team and create a strong and positive team culture.
