We are currently seeking an experienced Java Contractor to join our Belfast team on a competitive daily rate basis.


Position Overview:

As a Java Contractor, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining high-performance Java applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that meet the dynamic needs of our business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-performance Java applications.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to understand and implement business requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Conduct unit testing and support the Quality Assurance team during testing phases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
  • Stay up to date with the latest Java development trends and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Java Developer, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Proficiency in Java programming language and related technologies (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and web services.
  • Familiarity with database technologies such as SQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
  • Previous experience in financial services or trading environments.

Contract Details:

  • Rate: Up to £550 per day, depending on experience.
  • Location: Hybrid, office based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
  • Duration: Contract position with potential for extension based on project requirements and performance.
  • Start Date: Immediate availability preferred.
