Job Description

The Sales and Business Development Manager will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of Diistil by developing and executing effective sales strategies. This role requires a proactive individual who can identify new business opportunities, build strong relationships with clients, and drive sales performance. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the spirits industry, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record in sales and business development.


Duties and responsibilities:

  • To proactively generate and maintain a comprehensive list of potential clients, expanding the company’s market reach and driving sales growth.
  • To actively engage with potential clients through in-person visits and cold calling, building relationships and driving direct sales efforts.
  • To ensure consistent follow-up with potential clients and diligently drive the sales process to completion, maximising sales opportunities and achieving targets.
  • To effectively collaborate with internal colleagues, including the CEO and Head Distiller, leveraging their expertise and support to enhance sales strategies, address client needs, and close deals successfully.
  • To drive sales and brand presence primarily through hospitality activations while effectively managing relationships and strategies with distributors, retailers, and consumers.
  • To represent and promote the brand through leading tastings and events, enhancing brand awareness, and driving customer engagement and sales.
  • To independently drive sales efforts, establish new client relationships, and build a strong foundation for the company’s sales operations as the first dedicated sales team member.

Qualifications:


Experience: Have previous work experience in sales and business development within the drinks or hospitality industry in London. Start-up experience is a plus.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of the spirits industry and market dynamics.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in using internal systems to monitor and report on progress.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additional details

  • Salary: £40-45k per annum
  • Location – Central London (Strand / Covent Garden office)
  • Hours – 40 hours / week, Mon-Fri, with some flexibility required/available
  • Holiday entitlement: 33 days (inclusive of the Bank Holidays)

  • Potential for equity participation after 12 months

The post holder may be required to work outside core working hours (as detailed in their contract of employment); for example, to attend product launches and events, to resolve unforeseen problems, to attend emergency situations, or to meet operational demands.
