London, UK, United Kingdom Andrew James Specialist Recruitment Ltd Full time

We are supporting an ambitious and fascinating SME as they look to hire a stand-alone HR Manager into their Central London based office.

Reporting to a Director and working closely with the wider board, this role will look to establish, and subsequently maintain operational HR excellence for the firm. This will include implementing an HR system, reviewing policies and procedures, updating processes, and working ongoing to handle operational HR workload to deliver efficiencies, manage risk and help the business meet its goals.

Day to day the role will be involved in recruitment, managing employee queries, handling any ER issues if they arise and when it comes up, it will lead on and manage change (should there be redundancy, TUPE, re structures etc).

Once operational process have been established, there is the opportunity to work on some exciting long term projects too. The business is keen to review how it recruits, establish succession planning, consider apprentice & graduate schemes, and look to create new working practises for its people.

This role represents a brilliant opportunity for a HR Professional to enjoy all the variety and ownership that a standalone position offers. The business has around 100 employees and is based in a beautiful central London location. The firm is ambitious and is looking to diversify and possibly acquire other interests. Whilst is it not planned to have a function in the future, there is no doubt that the business will not stand still and who knows what role development will come.

To apply to this role you should be a CIPD qualified HR professional who wants to work in a stand alone capacity for an SME. You might have worked standalone before, or you may be working in a slightly larger environment and crave more responsibility and autonomy. It is not expected that HR professionals who have experience from giant corporate firms will be happy in the role as the role will have no administrative support and will be stand alone.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator who is able to influence and is commercially aware. The successful candidate will be well organised, strong with IT systems and be able to demonstrate the creation and management and effective HR administration processes. It would be highly beneficial if you have implemented an HR system before and it is expected that you will have experience of managing ER issues.
