COMPETENCE AND DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Supportive, engaging and collaborative. Our Competence and Development Managers are responsible for designing, implementing and delivering companywide training alongside completion of all training and competency activities under SMCR.
As a Competence and Development Manager at Chase de Vere you will work with experienced and associate financial advisers to ensure they reach and maintain Competent Adviser Status (CAS). Alongside regular observations, you will collaborate with Senior Managers across the business to identify developmental and training opportunities as well as running regular inductions for new colleagues.
We know that the best Advisers are those who remain engaged and are motivated to learn and evolve in an everchanging industry to provide the best industry advice to our clients. At Chase de Vere, it is imperative that our Competence and Development Team are consistently developing their material and methodologies to meet these requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
- The Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning Dip PFS is essential as you will be responsible for the oversight of regulated individuals. (J07 - supervision in a regulated environment or the equivalent would also be a distinct advantage)
- Significant prior experience in a training and competency role, specifically with Financial Advisers.
- Experience of constructing financial planning advice would be advantageous
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining positive relationships with your team and key stakeholders.
WHAT YOUR ROLE WILL INVOLVE
Our Competence and Development Managers work closely with advisers across the business to ensure that each individual meets their potential. From regular observations, one to one coaching sessions and collaboration with Senior Managers, our Competence and Development Managers are motivated to ensure each IFA within the company, regardless of level of experience, feels engaged and in control of their development and progression and expertise.
Your day-to-day role
- Liaising with Senior Managers to identify individual and group training requirements
- Developing and delivering our national training programme
- Co-ordinating and leading the delivery of knowledge and skills training for advisers and supervisors to ensure Competent Adviser Status (CAS) is achieved
- Observing live client meetings and creating roleplay opportunities to assess ongoing adviser’s competence
- Recording one to one meetings with advisers and be responsible for advisers ongoing competence under SMCR.
- Collaborating with Senior Manager to maintain robust development plans and deliver relevant training based on team objectives
- Delivering company induction programmes to provide a positive introduction to the company for new entrants
