The job role sits in Quilter's proposition team. The proposition team at Quilter plays a crucial role in driving the company's strategic initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality financial products and services. This team is responsible for developing and managing Quilter's product offerings, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and align with market demands. The structure of the proposition team includes various specialists who focus on different aspects of product development, such as technical support, regulatory compliance, and customer engagement. Their work is integral to Quilter's success, as they help maintain the company's competitive edge by continuously innovating and improving the product portfolio.

As part of the pensions technical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the company's pension and retirement planning initiatives are both innovative and compliant with relevant regulations. This team is responsible for providing expert advice on pension tax and regulation to the business as well as to the adviser community, developing new retirement planning initiatives, and ensuring that all marketing and sales activities are aligned with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities:
  • Are a specialist on pension regulatory and tax developments that will impact the retirement market. Working with the Head of Retirement to identify horizon risks and opportunities. Assist in the development of pension and retirement planning initiatives, ensuring they are compliant and aligned with good customer outcomes.
  • Providing clear and accurate advice on marketing developments, distribution ideas, and other initiatives.
  • Conducting detailed analysis of complex situations, using legislative knowledge to make recommendations that shape product development, support the Technical Helpdesk function and internal Operations teams.
  • Where required lead on the technical input to Project deliveries.
  • Represent Quilter externally whether at industry, HMRC or trade body meetings ensuring that Quilters views are heard. Will be happy to represent Quilter in the media.
  • Ensure Quilter continues to be known for its technical excellence.

This role will directly contribute to positive outcomes by shaping the Quilter retirement proposition. It will ensure that Quilters processes and practices are technically accurate and support advisers and customers achieving good outcomes.

About You

To be successful in this role:
  • you will have or are on the way to achieving a deep knowledge of the pension technical specialism and an understanding of other Tax and Trust rules.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the long terms savings market and industry and relevant regulations and their associated principles.
  • You will bring a drive and enthusiasm to the role with a desire for continued development and knowledge.
  • You should have relevant industry qualifications at Diploma or Chartered status within CII/PFS route and/or the PMI.
  • You must have, or be willing to build, a strong industry network outside of Quilter.
  • You will be an articulate and confident communicator who listens to others and talks honestly, able to work in partnership with others to deliver.
  • You are a confident presenter.
