About Synergy:

Synergy Healthcare Research is a small, dynamic, award-winning healthcare market research agency. We are looking for an SRE with around 2 years’ experience to join our small team of 9 researchers and 2 office staff based at a convenient location in central London, between Farringdon and Old Street.


Synergy conduct a broad range of market research projects on a wide variety of healthcare issues. While most of our work is UK-based, we sometimes conduct research across Europe, and beyond. Our primary clients are pharmaceutical companies, but we also work with charities, patient organisations, and campaign groups.


Our most frequent research methodologies include market understanding, patient flow / journey, prescribing opportunity, customer motivations and drivers and barriers research, communications evaluation, branding and positioning, segmentation, tracking and DFUs.


All of our projects are bespoke and last between 2-4 months and our researchers usually work on 5-8 projects at any one time. All our researchers work on both qual and quant projects, and are expected to have a good grasp of both – there is no sub-specialisation.

About the role:


We are seeking an experienced Senior Research Executive (SRE) with around 2 years’ experience in healthcare market research to join our Synergy team on a full-time basis. This role is perfect for someone eager to take on more responsibilities, increase their client visibility, and collaborate closely with senior researchers within a close-knit, dynamic team.


As an SRE at Synergy, you will be actively involved in every stage of our market research projects, from initial design to final delivery. From day one, you will engage in the day-to-day management of projects, including:

  • Writing proposals and pitches
  • Managing research projects, including client and supplier liaison
  • Designing research materials, such as screeners, interview guides, and online surveys
  • Conducting interviews with healthcare professionals and patients
  • Analysing and interpreting data
  • Preparing PowerPoint presentations of findings
  • Attending client meetings and participating in delivering presentations
  • Supporting business development initiatives


Core working hours are 9:15pm-5:30pm Monday to Thursday, with shorter hours of 9:15-4pm on Fridays. We offer flexible working hours to accommodate your needs.


The position involves a limited amount of evening interviewing (typically 4-6 evenings per month), conducted from home with the flexibility to choose your preferred evenings in advance.

Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum 2:1 degree in any discipline and a grade B or higher in GCSE Maths.
  • Experience: Approximately 2 years’ experience in healthcare market research.
  • Research skills: Proficiency in both qualitative and quantitative research techniques, with a desire to continue developing both.
  • Moderation: Experience in conducting depth interviews.
  • Technical Skills: Competent in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Language: Fluent in English (both verbal and written).

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
  • Presentation skills: Experience in preparing findings in PowerPoint, including developing actionable recommendations.
  • Ambition: A desire to take on higher-level responsibilities and grow within the role
