Job Purpose

The Operational Resilience Analyst will support the Operational Resilience Manager in delivering the organisation’s resilience strategy. The role involves working closely with key business stakeholders, conducting scenario testing, and developing resilience policies and contingency plans. The focus is on strengthening the organisation’s ability to handle disruptions while ensuring compliance with UK regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

• Support Operational Resilience Objectives: •

Assist in delivering the organisation’s resilience objectives in line with regulatory guidelines. • Collaborate on key resilience initiatives with the Operational Resilience Manager. • Mapping and Impact Tolerances: • Help maintain and update Important Business Services (IBS), mapping them appropriately and establishing impact tolerances. • Advisory and Guid

ance: • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on resilience, providing advice and guidance to business service owners.


• Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Business Service Owners (BSOs) and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with resilience standards. •

Scenario Testing and Exercises: • Assist in designing and executing severe but plausible scenario tests, such as desk-based exercises and simulations. • Support post-test activities, including creating reports, identifying vulnerabilities, and helping BSOs assess contingency plans. • Contingency Plan Evaluation: • Work with business owners to evaluate contingency plans, ensuring their robustness in responding to severe disruptions. • Engagement in Operational Resilience Forums: • Participate in internal and external forums, providing updates to senior stakeholders on resilience efforts and escalating any identified risks. • Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain accurate and up-to-date resilience policies, procedures, and plans, ensuring documentation is regularly updated. • Resilience Training: • Support the delivery of formal and informal resilience training across all levels of the organisation, promoting an understanding of resilience strategies


• Deputising Role: • Act as deputy to the Operational Resilience Manager when required, ensuring continuity of responsibilities.

Required Experience and Skills:


• Financial Services Experience:Proven experience in the financial services sector, with a focus on banking and markets. • Regulatory Knowledge:Strong understanding of UK operational resilience regulations. Experience in delivering resilience strategies within this regulatory framework is desirable. • Analytical and Problem-Solving

Skills:Ability to analyse complex issues, assess risks, and develop effective resilience strategies. Strong attention to detail is essential. • Scenario Testing Experience:Prior experience in scenario or stress testing, with the ability to assess and refine testing exe

rcises. • Stakeholder Mana

gement:Excellent skills in managing stakeholders, with the confidence to provide advice and challenge at all levels.

• Communiation Skills:

Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and deliver presentations.

• Multi-tasking and Organisation:

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, ensuring a focus on quality and meeting deadlines.
