We are working with one of London's most trusted and best used highways maintenance and construction contractors with over 40 years worth of established industry pedigree. With new works packages and successfully tendered contracts coming in to their work flow, they have a necessity to bring in a new commercial expert to their team who is capable of procuring labour and subcontractors for a portfolio of works that will be delivered within budget and to agreed schedule.
What you'll be responsible for
You'll be primarily responsible for overseeing the monthly valuations and financial accounts in preparation for invoicing customers. You will also be tasked with recording, monitor and review the financial performance of contracts as well as being responsible for securing payments from customers within the specified contract terms. Lastly, you'll be expected to manage the procurement and payment of subcontractors. Additionally you'll need to oversee the measurement and preparation of valuations with a view to maximising returns under the provisions of the Contract Conditions and Company procedures, driving the reduction of debt and costs.
To be considered you'll need to have the following qualifications
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a similar role within a large complex multi site business, ideally within the civils or highways space.
As well as be enthusiastic, self-motivated, organised individual who has a pragmatic and approachable personality, you should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to develop effective relationships at all levels.
Though not required, it is desirable that you are qualified to at least degree level in a relevant qualification or be suitably qualified by experience related to industry standards.
