A leading corporate banking and capital markets organisation is seeking an OTD Syndicate - Structured Solutions Sales to join their team in London.


Main Purpose of the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Loan Originator with a specialised focus on the “Originate to Distribute” (OTD) risk transfer model. This role involves originating loan assets from Financial Institutions, SSAs and Corporates with the intent to strategically distribute and transfer risk to various market participants. The OTD Syndicate will be responsible for coordinating the sourcing and distribution process of the Structured Solutions Sales teams in Europe, Middle East, Asia and the Americas. A strong cooperation with the Structuring and the Trading teams is required to execute loan transactions that align with investor appetite to ensure that the risk exposure is appropriately distributed. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in credit origination, deep knowledge of structured finance, and a proven track record in distributing loan risk across a network of investors.


Key Activities and Competencies:

  • Identify, structure, and originate loan assets with the explicit goal of distributing the credit risk through syndication, securitization, or other risk transfer methods.
  • Negotiate loan terms that meet borrower needs while ensuring that the asset is attractive for secondary market distribution.
  • Steer the whole origination and distribution process within the Sales team and coordinate closely with Structuring and Trading to ensure robust demand and competitive pricing for loan placements.
  • Develop and implement strategies for distributing loan risk across different investor channels, including banks, institutional investors, hedge funds, and private credit buyers.
  • Foster partnerships with these investors, creating a reliable network for distributing loan risk.
  • Actively assess market demand, investor appetite, and credit risk metrics to optimize distribution channels and create liquidity for originated assets.
  • Prepare regular and comprehensive updates on market conditions, emerging trends as well as assessing borrowers and investors demand.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Relationship Managers, Credit Officers and other relevant internal units throughout the entire process, managing communications and facilitating smooth deal execution.
  • Collaborate with internal Risk Management teams to ensure internal risk thresholds are met.


Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is highly desirable.
  • Sufficient experience in loan origination, credit analysis, or structured finance, with a focus on risk distribution.
  • Proven track record in originating, structuring, and executing loan transactions.
  • Strong understanding of risk distribution strategies, loan syndication, and credit markets.
  • High degree of proficiency in working with institutional investors and understanding their risk preferences.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a consultative approach to client and investor management with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of client organizations.
  • Highly self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, competitive sales environment.
