Finatal is currently working exclusively on the search for a Finance Director to join a PE backed Services business based in Manchester. Following a period of significant growth, they are searching for a Finance Director to join the Group Function in Manchester. With a pipeline of acquisitions to make, mostly international competitors, the business is ramping up its global presence in an effort to achieve maximum return for its investors on a relatively short time frame.


The Group CFO requires a technically astute candidate with a controllership background, with the focus of this role being around Financial Control and Reporting, this role would not suit a candidate with a commercial background. Outside controls and reporting, there is a lot of project work to get involved with including rationalisation projects, integration, system enhancement and further professionalisation and upskilling of the team in Manchester.


Responsibilities:

· Financial Reporting: Oversee all financial reporting activities to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.

· Financial Control: Implement and maintain robust financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with statutory and corporate requirements.

· Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the executive team to support the company’s strategic plan, focusing on financial control and reporting aspects of international expansion through acquisition.

· Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a finance team of 12 professionals, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

· Professionalisation Project: Lead a significant professionalisation project focused on the rationalisation of entities and a comprehensive systems upgrade to enhance the finance function's capabilities, processes, and systems to meet the demands of a growing and increasingly complex business.

· Audit and Compliance: Ensure the company's financial practices adhere to all relevant regulations and standards, coordinating with internal and external auditors as needed.

· Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and control.


Requirements:

· Qualified accountant with 10+ years post-qualification experience (ACCA/ACA)

· Proven experience and track record as a Private Equity Finance Director focused on reporting, controllership, and consolidations.

· Demonstrated ability to lead large teams in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

· Hands on, communicative candidate.

· Proven track record of working within B2B Services, Professional Services or Industrial/Utilities sectors.
