We are working with a manufacturing company looking to take on an Operations management trainee. As part of this role, you'll embark on a dynamic and immersive learning journey designed to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the business operations. This role is an excellent stepping stone, equipping you with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance to the Operations Manager position. You will play a crucial role in overseeing departmental functions to ensure product quality, strategic goal achievement, and customer satisfaction. This is very much a learning role and within this position you will be equipped to grow and develop a skillset to then manage operations for half of the company.


Throughout this program, you'll receive extensive training and hands-on experience across key departments. This exposure will give you a well-rounded understanding of the business operations and prepare you for future leadership opportunities. Additionally, you will actively contribute to our strategic goals as part of the management team. Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally, is essential for this role. This is a two-year programme which will progress to a Management role in the US.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in a comprehensive hands-on training program, rotating through various departments to develop a deep understanding of business functions and gain practical experience.
  • Adapt to evolving business needs and contribute to improving operational efficiency across departments.
  • Meet performance objectives set by senior management.
  • Shadow experienced employees to learn about their methods, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Lead or assist with special projects as assigned by senior management.
  • Provide regular updates on your progress towards goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with management and trainers to monitor your performance and development.
  • Receive training in related departments to enhance your versatility and increase opportunities for promotion.
  • Support various departments as needed, including tasks such as reporting, data entry, presentation development, strategic planning, and customer service.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration between departments to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Participate in site visits to suppliers in the UK and Europe.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support departmental and business operations.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in an Operations role.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to learn quickly and a desire for career advancement.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A hands-on approach to tasks and a proactive problem-solver with a focus on overcoming challenges.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong focus on advancing business goals.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of working independently as well as being an effective team player.
  • Exceptional written, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Resourceful, organized, and shows leadership potential.
  • Willingness to travel to the USA and Europe.
