Role: Head of Programme Funding and Philanthropy

Based: Norwich/London (Hybrid, min 2 days in office)

Reports to: CEO of High Performance Foundation

Hours: FT - 37.5 hours pw


We’re looking for a passionate and strategic-minded individual to join our team as the Head of Programme Funding and Philanthropy. Someone who feels passionately about disrupting the status quo in education and is excited by the challenge of joining a new and rapidly growing organisation to spearhead our funding strategies, cultivate partnerships, and secure funding.


About High Performance Foundation

The High Performance Foundation is a newly established charity which was set up after the success of the High Performance Podcast. We exist to help young people kickstart their journey to a future where they can thrive. The content has young people from underserved backgrounds at its centre, aiming to improve resilience, mental health and employability skills. Our flagship programme, Game Plan, is a free resource for schools. Bringing high impact videos from well-known and respected personalities alongside high quality lesson plans, designed and developed in conjunction with education experts.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Lead the planning and delivery of fundraising strategies to enable the organisation to deliver its mission.
  • Identify and Manage Funding Partners: Identify and cultivate relationships with potential funding partners, including philanthropic organisations, corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Manage relationships with funders and serve as the primary point of contact for stewarding these partnerships.
  • Grant and Bid Writing: Lead the development of compelling grant proposals and funding bids, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and programmatic needs.
  • Reporting: Oversee the preparation and submission of high-quality reports to funders, detailing program outcomes, impact metrics, and financial accountability.
  • Budget Oversight: Contribute to budget planning and monitoring, ensuring that funding allocations are utilised effectively and in accordance with donor requirements.
  • Opportunity Identification: Continuously scan the funding landscape for new opportunities, trends, and funding mechanisms to support the organisation's growth and sustainability. Represent the organisation externally to raise awareness of our work and attract potential supporters.


Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record of success in fundraising, grant writing, and securing funding from diverse sources.
  • Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape, including trends, best practices, and key players.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas persuasively in writing and verbally.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute innovative fundraising strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
