A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join my Facilities Management client on a permanent basis as a Contract Manager in the Portsmouth area, this role will see you managing a team of Building Fabric Engineers, across a wide and varied commercial property portfolio.


As the local face of one of the fastest growing SME FM Service providers in the UK, you will manage the account from all angles, including client relationship management, line management of a dedicated team of engineers, sourcing great sub-contractors, and of course P&L.


This is a key role for the business, and one where you can enjoy a great deal of autonomy whilst successfully growing the account through your customer skills and commercial savvy.


Role & Responsibilities

  • As PPM and Repairs are the heart of the contract, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards, safely, compliantly, and cost effectively. This includes all Fabric including roofing, fenestration and decorating.
  • Partnering with the client to deliver outstanding customer service within the realms of the contract, and agreeing additional CAPEX and Project Works outside of scope using your commercial expertise.
  • Leading your team of engineers to deliver excellence, enabling them to give their best whilst coaching where necessary to build their financial acumen and commercial skill set.
  • Sourcing and managing specialist sub-contractors, and of course working with engineers from the wider business when necessary.
  • Through all of the above, you will look to achieve sustainable business growth.



Candidate Profile

  • Experience of delivering Building Fabric Maintenance contracts, ideally across a busy and varied portfolio, in terms of age (from Victorian to new build), use (offices to cafeterias to an onsite gym) and location (multiple buildings across the local area, some with access challenges due to pedestrianisation etc).
  • A skilled leader, who can motivate and coach your engineers.
  • Commercially astute, with demonstrable experience of making the right decisions to improve profitability without detriment to the client relationship.
  • Exceptional account management or customer service skills, along with a knack for relationship building.
