The Role:


Neruda Capital is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Commodities Trader to expand our presence in the global commodities markets. This role is integral to driving innovation, shaping strategy, and achieving results in commodities trading. With access to Neruda Capital’s advanced trading infrastructure and proprietary tools, you will navigate the complexities of global markets, spearheading initiatives that enhance our competitive advantage and deliver consistent success.


Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Trading Execution: Develop and implement sophisticated trading strategies across the listed commodities sector.
  • Risk Oversight: Actively identify and manage market risks, ensuring strategies align with the company's robust risk management framework and regulatory standards.
  • Performance Management: Drive financial outcomes by setting and achieving profit targets, continuously refining trading tactics to optimise returns.
  • Market Representation: Act as the key point of contact with brokers, exchanges, and other external stakeholders, ensuring smooth trading operations and strong market relationships.
  • Market Research and Insights: Monitor and interpret market trends, geopolitical influences, and regulatory developments, integrating these insights to refine trading strategies and capture new opportunities.
  • Compliance and Governance: Uphold strict adherence to regulatory guidelines and company policies, ensuring that all trading activities maintain the highest standards of integrity and transparency.


Requirements:


  • Academic Background: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as finance, economics, or engineering. Advanced qualifications or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are advantageous.
  • Proven Trading Expertise: Extensive experience in commodities trading with a successful track record across Swaps, Derivatives, and Cleared products.
  • Risk Management Acumen: Strong knowledge of risk assessment and mitigation, with the ability to navigate complex market conditions effectively.
  • Technical Competence: Experience working with advanced trading platforms and systems, leveraging technology to enhance trading outcomes.
  • Analytical Strength: A sharp, data-driven approach to identifying market opportunities and creating impactful strategies.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, fostering high levels of motivation and performance.
  • Regulatory Awareness: In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards in global energy trading.
