Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
This is an exciting opportunity for a psychologist to undertake a development role in our neuropsychology pathways providing a direct clinical offer and also helping shape psychological provision. We offer excellent supervision and support from a Consultant Neuropsychologist. The job is full time, but part time hours would be considered. You will have experience in neuropsychological assessment. We are looking for someone who enjoys MDT working with lots of opportunities to provide supervision, consultation and training. This would include developing psychological and cognitive skills for the staff team in line with a matched care approach. The neuropsychology service sits within Community Care Psychology, a large and supportive psychology team where there are lots of development opportunities and CPD. We have previously supported people to complete their QICN as well other trainings (e.g. CAT).
Main duties of the job
• Providing neuropsychological assessments and interventions for people with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injury, including FND, and their families and contributing to a culture of support and collaboration both in the service and with partner. Interventions may involve family members and carers and include liaison and consultation.
• Active contribution to MDTs: providing case discussion and care planning with an emphasis on sharing biopsychosocial formulations and evidence based interventions
• Contributing to audit, research and service development
• Providing formal and adhoc supervision to other staff, including trainees as well as providing teaching and learning opportunities.
• Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of people following a stroke and ABI and their families and contributing to a culture of support and collaboration both in the service and with partner agencies.
