Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Neuropsychologist to join our team at Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of psychological interventions in our neuropsychology pathways, working across a range of conditions including ABI and neurodegenerative disease.

Main Duties

Providing neuropsychological assessments and interventions for individuals with acquired and neurodegenerative brain injury, including FND, and their families.
Active contribution to multidisciplinary teams, providing case discussion and care planning with an emphasis on sharing biopsychosocial formulations and evidence-based interventions.
Contributing to audit, research, and service development.
Providing formal and ad-hoc supervision to other staff, including trainees, as well as teaching and learning opportunities.
Providing clinical expertise and leadership in the psychological and cognitive needs of individuals following a stroke and ABI, and their families.

Person Specification

BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology.
Post-graduate Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Post-qualification training/experience in specific, evidence-based techniques for use with clients with complex psychological presentations and/or physical health difficulties, across the age span.
Evidence of regular further professional training and experience as required by the Health and Care Professions Council and the BPS.
Eligible for registration as a Chartered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist by the BPS.
Eligible for registration as a Full Divisional Member of the BPS Division of Neuropsychology.
Registered with Health and Care Professions Council as a Clinical Psychologist.
A minimum of 4 years of experience working as a qualified Clinical Psychologist within the specified service area.
Experience of leading in relation to the development and organisation of psychological interventions within a given clinical area.
Sufficient training and experience to be recognised by the Division of Neuropsychology as a suitably qualified psychologist to offer clinical placements to trainee Psychologists.
Experience of assessing and providing a wide range of psychological interventions to patients presenting with the full degree of clinical severity and across a range of clinical mental health presentations across the life span and care settings.
Has worked as a Chartered Psychologist within this specified service area.
Experience of multi-agency/multidisciplinary working.
Therapeutic expertise in working with carers/families/couples.
Experience of conducting clinically relevant research.
