South Bradford Golf Club is a private members club, established in 1906, situated on the outskirts of Bradford, close to the M606, overlooking the Calder and Colne Valleys to the south towards Huddersfield. The Club has around 620 members, half of whom are golfing members. The Clubhouse has been recently refurbished and has a large lounge/dining room with capacity for approximately 80 covers for dining so there is a huge potential for attracting new business including, but not limited to, members themed evenings, Sunday lunches, functions etc.

We are looking for a couple, small team, or an individual whereby the catering is franchised, and the steward/bar manager is employed by the club. Individual applicants may opt for either or both aspects of the opportunity. On site accommodation with the benefits of covered overheads can be provided.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and pro-active couple/team/individual, ideally with, but not necessarily a proven track record of running a busy golf club.

Previous Golf Club experience would be an advantage, but more importantly, the successful applicant(s) should be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver a consistently excellent and varied bar and dining experience for both the members and visitors alike, with food ranging from bar snacks to large dinners and functions.

We require the following essential attributes:

  • A high focus on customer service and the ability to respond positively to challenges.
  • Ability to work with the management committee to grow the business and to ensure the best possible utilisation of club facilities.
  • Recruit bar and catering staff for covering all day-to-day activities and events.
  • The Club is open 7 days per week and weekends are our busiest periods so regular weekend working in essential.
  • Proven Health and Safety and food hygiene experience to maintain our excellent 5-star food hygiene ratings.
  • Responsible for the managing and security of the clubhouse premises.
  • Working with the House Chair, manage all enquiries and bookings in relation to food and beverage events.

We will provide the following benefits:

  • Use of a fully equipped and recently updated catering kitchen, inclusive of utility costs.
  • Two-bed flat with reception room, breakfast kitchen and bathroom including utility costs.
  • Supportive, progressive management committee focused on progress and growth.
