As the Sports Social Media Growth Manager, you will play a pivotal role in expanding the online reach and influence of the OLBG brand across all major social media platforms. You will develop and execute data-driven strategies to grow our audience, increase engagement, and drive conversions, through both organic and paid social. You will be an expert in building followers/communities and amplifying existing content, using both organic and paid social techniques.


This role requires a strategic thinking, with a deep understanding of the sporting landscape (particularly football and horse racing), social media platforms and trends for both paid-for and organic social. This role will require flexibility for both weekend and evening work as required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement organic and paid-for social media strategies to grow OLBG’s audience and engagement across multiple social media channels.
  • Build and growth-hack follower numbers on Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Twitter/X, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Identify target demographics and market segments within the sports community, tailoring content and engagement tactics to resonate with specific audience interests and preferences.
  • Conduct A/B testing and performance analysis to refine content strategies, including headline variations, visual elements, posting times, and frequency, to optimize audience engagement and conversion rates.
  • Monitor social media analytics and metrics to track performance, identify trends, and optimise strategies accordingly.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices, and integrate them into our social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, content, and design, to ensure alignment and consistency across all channels.
  • Manage social media advertising campaigns, including budgeting, targeting, and performance analysis.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for innovation and differentiation.


Who You Are:

  • Proven experience in social media management and audience/engagement growth, preferably within the sports industry.
  • Passion for sports (especially horse racing and football) and a deep understanding of sports culture, trends, and fan behavior.
  • Knowledge of both sports betting and the regulations around promoting gambling content across social platforms.
  • Social native with a strong understanding of social media platforms, their respective audiences, and best practices for each platform.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective social media growth strategies, including content optimization and audience targeting.
  • Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and scheduling software.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions and optimise performance.
  • Expert in social media advertising platforms, including Meta Business Suite and Twitter/X Ads manager.
  • Passion for staying ahead of social media trends and innovations, with a continuous learning mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to craft compelling messaging and engage effectively with diverse audiences.
  • A “can do” attitude that thrives when working to deadlines in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Self-motivated, imaginative and confident in working on your own initiative and with autonomy.
