Scrum Master with a technical background required to join our eCommerce Team. You will be expected to lead one or more Agile team(s) in the delivery of bespoke development projects as well as operational improvements, often in very challenging timescales. You also have excellent knowledge & experience of Agile teachings, approaches, behaviours and be capable of helping both teams and the wider organisation to address the dysfunctions that may result from teams and others misinterpreting, ignoring or rejecting Lean and Agile values and principles.


Please bear in mind that this is a contractual position based in London.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Senior Scrum Master responsibility of facilitating development using an Agile framework
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to inspire, coach and lead teams with little Agile experience
  • Able to setup Agile principles and Processes from scratch to deliver success
  • Able to mentor more Junior Scrum Masters and help them develop their skills within role
  • Facilitation of all team meetings and ceremonies, including Planning sessions, Showcases, Team Retrospectives and the daily stand-up
  • Support the efficient flow of work through Agile teams by helping the teams remove obstacles and make improvements
  • Assist the Programme Manager with dependency analysis and tracking
  • Support Lean and Agile thinking as the norm and help foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Cultivate trust through personal and team relationships with a range of product owners
  • Able to manage senior stakeholders within the Scrum framework
  • Able to manage multiple Scrum teams where required
  • Enable teams to monitor progress within and across sprints using effective metrics.
  • Working knowledge of Agile frameworks, in particular Scrum and Kanban
  • Good understanding of the software development cycle and release management
  • Flexible attitude towards changing client needs and working with remote Product Owners
  • Active participation in the identification of risks, issues and dependencies
  • Proactive problem solver, removing team impediments and raising team issues to management
  • Regular reporting both internally and to the client, by helping to determine team velocity and other measures of throughput
  • Keeping up to date with emerging industry practices.


What we want from you:

  • Experience working in a complex Agile environment
  • Experience of working multiple projects with some exposure to eCommerce or web based projects
  • Experience implementing Agile framework
  • Experience mentoring Scrum Masters
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced delivery environment
  • Exposure of working in the following environments would be advantageous - Java, J2EE, Hybris, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence
  • Experience of leading and managing multiple scum teams
  • Strong time management & organisational skills.
  • Ability to define, manage and deliver to customer expectations within strict deadlines
  • Excellent negotiation skills and an ability to handle sensitive issues with tact and diplomacy
  • Be capable of teaching and coaching the adoption of Continuous Delivery Practices such as integrating continuously (CI), TDD, ATDD, BDD, Pairing, Mobbing
