Mortgage Completions Team Leader

The mortgage department is a hub where they help and support mortgage customers with one of the largest commitments of their lives. As the Mortgage Completions Team Leader, along with the support of the completions team, you will be responsible for managing the borrowers’ mortgage journey from offer to completion ensuring a smooth process throughout.
Responsibilities of the Mortgage Completions Team Leader
• Proactively managing the Completions pipeline. Ensuring offer conditions are met prior to release and risks are addressed.
• Overseeing the day-to-day activities within your team ensuring that processes run efficiently and effectively.
• Providing training and mentoring through coaching and feedback to communicate expectations for employee performance.
• Dealing with Performance Management/disciplinary issues with your line reports as and when they arise.
• Ensuring that individual workloads are handled and progressed in an efficient manner avoiding any delays in responding to the customers.
• Ensuring you effectively communicate to all staff in your delegated team to ensure they understand the organisation aims, objectives, standards and targets and how they, as individuals, help to achieve them.
• Taking responsibility for and to independently deal with both verbal and written complaints within your team as and when they arise whilst adhering to the complaints procedure.
• Ensuring that all Standard Operating procedures for the completions team are reviewed on a regular basis and are kept up to date at all times.
• Participating in and assist in coordinating system testing, wider Society projects and projects within the Mortgage Customer Services Department.
• Using initiative and act as a problem solver and subject expert matter in respect of the mortgage completion teams responsibilities, providing solutions when necessary.
Requirements for the Mortgage Completions Team Leader
• Experience of the mortgage process
• Understanding of current mortgage lending legislation eg: MCOBs
• Desirable to have CeMAP qualification
• The ability to manage and motivate a team.
• Experience of managing a team to deadlines
• Positive “can do” attitude
