Technical Manager

As a Technical Manager, you will be at the forefront of all technical operations, ensuring our clients products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

You will be responsible for managing label translations, maintaining BRC standards, and overseeing all technical training within the operation. Additionally, you will manage retail portals for major clients, collaborate with brand managers and NPD colleagues, and take on a range of other responsibilities to support our technical functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Label Translation and Compliance: Ensure all product labels are accurately translated and compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • BRC Standards: Maintain and oversee BRC compliance, ensuring all processes and products meet the required standards. Ensure that technical governance is in place to deliver audit compliance with respect to internal, external, legal and customer requirements
  • Training and Development: Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for all technical staff, ensuring continuous improvement and compliance.
  • Retail Portal Management: Manage and maintain retail portals for clients such as Aldi and Sainsbury’s, ensuring accurate and up-to-date product information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with brand managers and New Product Development (NPD) colleagues to ensure seamless product launches and updates.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes to ensure all products meet internal and external quality standards.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and ensure company-wide compliance with all relevant legislation.
  • Supplier Audits: Conduct and manage supplier audits to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to internal teams and external clients, addressing any technical queries or issues that arise.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed technical documentation and reports, ensuring transparency and traceability.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within the food industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of BRC standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong experience in label translation and management.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and training delivery skills.
  • Proficiency in managing retail portals for major clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
