The role:

As a Graduate Junior Product Technologist, you'll play a vital role in our dynamic team, contributing to the product development lifecycle. Aligned with our company values, you are expected to evolve into a fully-fledged Product Technologist


Your primary role is to serve as the bridge between the product development kitchen and the production line, ensuring a seamless transition for new products/ingredients from trial and testing stages to full production.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the seamless transition of new products from trial to full production and recommend improvements during trial production runs.
  • Participate in buying and trialing new processing equipment.
  • Provide co-ordination for the implementation of new structures and processes.
  • Build relationships with NPD, Production, and other stakeholders.
  • Understand and flag potential problems in production processes.
  • Develop schedules for product launches and coordinate production trials.
  • Conduct ongoing investigations into production processes.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of operating procedures and provide support during initial production.
  • Cost products after trials and be flexible in undertaking role-associated activities.
  • Design, embed and champion Continuous Improvement initiatives beyond New Product Development, ensuring a culture of ongoing enhancement and efficiency throughout the organisation.

Experience:

  • A food-related degree or equivalent in Product Development or similar
  • Knowledge and experience in food manufacturing desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • IT skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience of working independently and collaboratively
  • Organisational and project management skills
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm
