As our next Parts Operation Engineer, you’ll be responsible for ensuring our suppliers have all the necessary drawings, CAD data and materials specifications to remanufacture the non-production components ranging from DB5 to current models. You’ll provide technical and engineering expertise across our procurement and quality teams, working together you’ll support and work to resolve any back orders or issues within the system.

In this role you’ll be responsible for the company’s heritage tooling. Your initial task will be developing a register to record and maintain the company’s huge back catalogue of tooling assets. You will have a key role in managing the supplier storage providers, ensuring the tools are properly stored and maintained.

When new service requirements are forecast the Parts Operations Engineer will work closely with the buyer to source the correct supplier, before overseeing the movement of the tooling, commissioning trials and component quality sign off for production of the service parts. At the end of production, the engineer will take the lead in ensuring tools are decommissioned, prepared for storage and re housed with the service providers. & &

To excel in this role, you'll need to be a trusted individual who is driven and organised. You’ll have unity with the team, exceptional communication skills, and the confidence to challenge and persuade where required. Your day-to-day activities will be providing technical expertise to the buyers and the supply base. You’ll be working on multiple priorities and deadlines with your judgment and pre-empting any issues before they arise.

The Key Requirements...

  • Engineering degree or proven equivalent experience.
  • Wide knowledge and experience within Automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience in leading a cross-functional team, including complex issue resolution.
  • Proven record of engineering and delivery of automotive components
  • Extensive knowledge of automotive development systems e.g., specification, releasing, concerns, containments, gateways, and sign-off documentation.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Excellent technical engineering background and comprehensive knowledge of using calculation and analysis to drive design solutions.
  • Experienced in Bolt Calc or other joint analysis software.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality tools and processes.
  • Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing processes to create Automotive components.
  • CAD User – preferably NX
