We're on the hunt for a dynamic, inventive, and passionate General Manager to lead our team at the exquisite Standon Hall.


About us

We are a new luxury wedding and events venue located just outside Eccleshall, Staffordshire. We are a Grade II listed country house with exceptional gardens and a modern and crazy twist that everyone envies.

As an independent, family run business, we aspire to offer our fearlessly stylish couples a destination venue with unprecedented dining and drinking options, unique bedrooms and event spaces.

The right candidate


We're seeking a diligent, imaginative, and magnetic individual with a knack for delivering unparalleled luxury experiences. Your role will encompass overseeing the day-to-day operations of the venue while infusing it with fresh and innovative concepts to propel growth. Leading by example, you'll inspire our team to uphold our commitment to excellence, fostering a culture of creativity and dedication. Confident in your abilities, you'll adeptly navigate interactions with staff, guests, and management alike, ensuring seamless communication and satisfaction across the board.


Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure every client receives an unforgettable luxury experience at Standon Hall, regardless of the occasion.
  • Cultivate, motivate, and empower team members to consistently deliver exceptional customer service in every aspect of our operation.
  • Play an active role in recruiting, training, and managing staff, maintaining optimal staffing levels for all events.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions to enhance performance and foster professional development.
  • Uphold the venue to the highest standards of presentation and safety, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Assume full financial responsibility for the events business, devising budgets and business plans in collaboration with the directors.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to address concerns, resolve issues, and celebrate successes.
  • Maintain thorough inventory and ensure the venue is fully equipped for flawless event execution.
  • Partner with directors to establish ambitious goals and targets that drive business growth, development, and alignment with financial and CSR objectives.


Skills & experience

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a general manager in a hotel/events setting is essential.
  • At least 7 years' experience in the hospitality industry.
  • Previous experience in a luxury venue setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of P&L and financial principles is crucial.
  • Familiarity with hospitality health & safety standards, as well as Food & Beverage procedures, is expected.
  • Possession of a personal license is advantageous, though not mandatory.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 Hour working week.

Salary: £50,000.00 per year
