A DNA Purification Team Lead is required for an award-winning Biotechnology CDMO based in London. The company is a specialist in enzymatic DNA production, and they partner with global Biotechs and top 10 Pharmaceutical companies, to produce synthetic DNA for use as both a starting material and an active pharmaceutical ingredient.


The DNA Purification Team Lead will be joining their Molecular Biology team and their main responsibility will be managing and guiding a team of 4 x scientists in client and collaborator production requests at either Research or GMP grade.


On offer for the selected candidate is the chance to work in a state-of-the-art facility for a Biotechnology company right at the cutting-edge of science with huge growth potential. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package which can be disclosed upon application.


The skillset / experience required to be the successful DNA Purification Team Lead:


  • Background in molecular biology; ideally within fermentation and pDNA Purification
  • Deep understanding of Fermentation / Purification of E.Coli
  • Good IT skills ideally including the use of sequence analysis software like SnapGene; good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; ability to update production databases, stock control systems or ERP
  • Embraces new initiatives and drives successful implementation in their area and understands how to effectively engage others in the change process
  • Experience with writing and following SOPs. Experience with completing controlled documentation such manufacturing instructions and logbooks.
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal, written and presentation
  • Confident presenter and able to lead team meetings
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Proactive and able to organize their own work and the work of their team members with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Adapts thinking and behaviour to support change
