Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our Risk and Compliance function in the role of Global Chief Risk Officer, Trust, and Fiduciary Services (TFS).

Under the HSBC Global Private Banking and Wealth (GPB&W) umbrella, TFS provides personal trust, estate administration, philanthropy, and family governance services.

Reporting to the Global GPB&W CRCO, the purpose of the role is to direct the effective identification and management of all enterprise risks (current and emerging) across TFS globally and enable the business to achieve its strategic growth objectives in a sustainable manner.

In this role, you will:

• Provide input to the TFS business strategy definition and annual operation plan, ensuring risks are duly considered and factored.
• Define and implement TFS Risk management strategy and priorities, in line with the GPB&W Chief Risk Office priorities and the TFS business strategic growth objectives.
• Engage with internal stakeholders across the business and functions to define and implement the TFS business risk appetite.
• Oversee the business implementation of the Group Risk Policies and contribute to the development and maintenance of the TFS business policies and procedures, ensuring these enable the business to operate within risk appetite.
• Provide independent support, advice and challenge to the business and functions, ensuring current and emerging risks are pro-actively identified and managed.
• Act as the single point of contact for the Global GPB&W CRCO and the TFS Global CEO for enterprise risks.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Significant experience in the financial industry and/or risk management
• Proven understanding of private wealth management and trust services with experience in the front line, management or functional support (e.g. Risk or Compliance) preferred.
• Proven ability to manage within a complex matrix environment, working across different countries and cultures.
• Experience working in a regulated environment.
• Strong knowledge of Risk Management principles and methodologies.
• Strong understanding of the regulatory environment and requirements.

The base location for this role will be London or Hong Kong – Hybrid Woeking. Please apply according to your preferred location.
