What Bleat needs -


Bleat is looking for a Mid-Senior Level Technical Engineer for their East London picture and sound finishing house.


Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and ensuring functionality of finishing suites including their hardware and software for Grading and Onlining
  • Management of content and site security
  • Managing data backups
  • Archive/restoring data
  • Support and assist picture finishing suites
  • Regular and shared data ingest duties
  • Support and manage MCR infrastructure
  • On site support and management of facility Networks and IT infrastructure in conjunction with 3rd party specialist contractors
  • Support and assist the Audio department
  • Organise and manage cable stocks and computer peripherals
  • Troubleshooting complicated workflow issues


Requirements:


The ideal candidate will be hard working and punctual, have excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve problems calmly with a practical approach. Interacting with clients and freelancers is to be undertaken with the utmost professionalism and discretion.


They will have a good understanding of

  • Apple Mac OS and Windows software
  • TPN security protocols and remediation practises
  • Blackmagic and DaVinci Resolve
  • Colour Science (Ideal, but not necessary, however a proven interest will be seen as favourable)
  • Shared data storage systems
  • Remote working platforms
  • Network-based file transfers and delivery
  • Data archiving
  • Dante audio network management
  • Avid S6 and MTRX and HDX hardware (Ideal, but not necessary)
  • Avid Pro Tools & Media Composer (Ideal, but not necessary)
  • Q-SYS network management (Ideal, but not necessary)


Candidate would ideally have

  • a proven track record of resolving issues associated with system configuration management, resource sharing and networking concepts.
  • an understanding of Dolby Vision and HDR picture workflows and monitoring
  • an understanding Post production workflows, including both broadcast/streamer and theatrical delivery.
  • A London home at time of application
  • An understanding that due to nature of Post Production, the candidate may be operating often out of hours at very short notice, and occasionally at weekends

Salary commensurate with experience.

40 hours pw / 8am-5pm negotiable
