This role is for a Key Account Manager to join the Commercial Department.
Role purpose
This role will support the Commercial Department with identifying and targeting business opportunities for Air Cargo Charter. The role holder will build strong, productive relationships with clients to ensure business objectives are achieved by managing enquiries, making offers and accepting bookings. Alongside this, the holder will coordinator Customer Services for flight operation and develop in their skills and knowledge in the role.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Client Relationship Management
- Liaise with clients to identify requirements and provide aircraft solutions
- Maintain and develop relationships with both key clients and new business leads to maximise business opportunities and increase client loyalty.
- Manage all operational aspects of cargo charters from the first enquiry to completion of the trip
Flight Quoting and Booking
- Negotiate with clients when necessary to procure the best value for the company and airline partners we represent
- Ensure timely offer with detailed and accurate information is provided for clients
- Follow up regularly and work towards booking confirmation
- Ensure all contracts, insurance and regulatory matters are accurate and legally compliant
- Liaise with clients and suppliers on issues relating to contracts to ensure these are addressed
Business / Sales Development
- To identify opportunities to grow the business in new and existing markets
- Visit potential clients with a view to generating further business
- Develop new business through initiative, follow up on new leads, client recommendations and pro-active networking
- Cold calling prospective new clients to help build on our successful portfolio of existing clients
Finance
- Ensure invoices are raised correctly with accurate information and payments are paid by clients in an agreed time scale
- Carry out reconciliations for charter flights and ensure these are closed and recharged accordingly
Other
- Keep up to date on latest aircraft availability of our fleet
- Carry out additional hours working where required and provide duty roster cover on rotation including weekends
- Keep up to date on latest operational capabilities of aircraft and airports
Key skills , knowledge, Experience required: (i.e. those required to fulfil the role, including qualifications):
The role will suit someone who has 2 or 3 years' experience in a similar role and industry, and can demonstrate the knowledge and skills below.
Industry knowledge
- A proven track record in a sales role and previous sales experience
- Vocational experience within aviation industry with aircraft operator or handler in similar role
- Knowledge of the aviation market in terms of aircraft types – preferably with a background of broking in a similar role or working in commercial department with a cargo airline/ GSA or similar role
Client / supplier relationship management
- Experience in managing relationships with demanding customers across the world and from different cultures in a discreet and professional manner
- Ability to deal with demanding clients in a calm manner
Planning and organisation
- Good time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles
- Ability to work under own initiative and without close supervision
- A strong team player and ability to assist colleagues when required
- High level of administrative skills
- Ability to focus on achievement of goals despite setbacks
Problem solving and decision making
- Ability to proactively find solutions to issues and problems using all resources available and manage the situation until problem is fully resolved

This role will be based in Hampton Wick.
Salary will be dependant on experience and benefits are on offer for this role.
