We are working with a rapidly growing, innovative snacking brand that’s making waves in the UK market. They are looking for an ambitious and experienced Head of Finance to join their London (EC2) based team.


The Role:

As the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for managing all financial operations of the UK division, reporting directly to the CEO. This role is crucial for driving financial strategy and ensuring the company’s financial health as it continues to expand. You will oversee everything from corporate accounting and financial reporting to budget preparation and internal control development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting Oversight: Manage all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and analysis for the UK company, leading a dedicated finance team.
  • Month-End Close: Ensure timely and accurate monthly accounting close, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts and invoice financing.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis to senior management and investors.
  • Budget Management: Lead the annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with internal teams to set and monitor departmental budgets.
  • Cash Flow Management: Develop and implement strategies to manage cash flow effectively, supporting both operational needs and strategic investments.
  • Inventory Controls: Collaborate with operations to manage inventory procedures, including production forecasting and valuation.
  • Internal Controls: Maintain and enhance internal control policies, ensuring the integrity and reliability of the accounting system.
  • KPI Reporting: Oversee the tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) across all business operations, providing strategic insights to support decision-making.
  • Leadership: Work closely with the founders to drive the company’s vision and business strategy, while fostering cross-functional collaboration to optimize financial performance.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with significant experience in finance operations.
  • Proven track record in senior financial management roles within the FMCG sector, preferably in Food & Beverage.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial regulations, accounting standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment, with experience in developing policies and processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Inventory Management, and Xero accounting system.

  • Experience in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • A track record of improving systems and processes as the company has grown.
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting.
