  • Autologous and allogenic cell therapy.


Role Overview


We are a small but busy finance department, supporting a rapidly growing business.

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to:


  1. Assist with general accounting operations and verifying our financial transactions up to TB. The responsibilities will include reconciling account balances and bank statements, maintaining the general ledger, and assisting with month-end close procedures.; and
  2. Have oversight and responsibility of the end-to-end Accounts Payable function, ensuring payments are made in a timely manner.


The successful candidate will combine excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.


You will also assist with improving internal processes and policies and helping to accelerate the month-end close process. Over the last 12 months an ERP implementation has taken place to SAP S4/Hanna from Sage Line 50.


Key responsibilities


Month end duties covering the below:

  • Reconciliation and review of aged creditor balances.
  • Accruals & prepayments.
  • Maintenance of fixed asset registers.
  • Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
  • Reconciliation of final trial balance for various group entities to supporting schedules.
  • Ad hoc month end adjustments.


AP lead managing two accounts payable assistants covering the below:

  • Preparing and processing payment runs, domestic & foreign.
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve any queries.
  • Posting bank payments and receipts, and general reconciliation.
  • Reconciling credit card statements once the admin assistant has compiled.
  • Processing and paying staff expense claims once admin assistant has compiled.
  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger allocations.
  • Involvement in team appraisal and goal setting processes.


Other duties:

  • Preparation of the group VAT return.
  • Sales ledger support.
  • Timesheet processing.
  • Supporting the year end close process and audit.
  • Payroll cover.
  • Ad hoc assignments as required.


Skills and Experience

  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • End-to-end Accounts Payable experience.
  • AAT/ ACCA or other similar.
  • Systems skills including SAP (ideally SAP S/4 HANA)
  • Good excel skills.
  • Proactive – focusing on ‘doing things better’.
  • Flexible team player.
  • Strong communication skills.
