Reporting into the Test Manager, the Software Test Lead is responsible for overseeing the testing of changes to business-critical systems. As the timely delivery of quality technology solutions is contingent upon thorough testing, the Software Test Lead will play a key part in improving the quality, and reducing the overhead of testing, thus contributing to the success of the organization. Leading a team of testers, they will work closely with developers and business stakeholders to develop and maintain a testing framework to ensure the systems built, and integrated with, meet the business’s requirements, are delivered within project parameters.
Your core responsibilities
- Take responsibility for ensuring that software products are robustly tested and fit for purpose based on appropriate criteria (including reference to design or technical specification documents).
- Accountable for strategizing the testing of internally developed software - as well as system enhancements, extensions, and integrations - using the Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and other tools.
- Provide reports, metrics and status updates on testing to project stakeholders facilitating the release management of code and configuration changes.
- Take responsibility for 6-month resource planning, including the identification of the skillsets relevant to specific test deliverables.
- Lead a team of test engineers, providing training and career development.
- Take responsibility for unblocking the team and resolving escalations.
- Write, review and execute Test Plans and Test Scripts within the necessary timescales.
- Monitor and maintain standards of testing best practice and contribute towards the continuous improvement of the test process.
- Identify, document and track defects to resolution.
Our essential requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- ISEB / ISTQB foundation qualification or equivalent.
- 2 years+ experience working as a test lead.
- Experience setting test strategy, writing test plans and managing test suites.
