Role Description

We are seeking a Head of Sales who is responsible for leading a team of business development and salespeople to most effectively cover the UK commercial vehicle market (HGVs and vans). You will spend your time across sales leadership, team management, strategy development and customer/business development.


Internally you will be the voice of our fleet customers. You will spend most of your time generating and managing relationships with the largest commercial vehicle fleets in the UK, while owning the detailed delivery plan that underpins the sales strategy set with the Business Development Director. You will lead the business’ thinking about the key challenges facing UK commercial vehicle operators and how Aegis can meet their needs, in a fast-changing market.


Working in a flat, entrepreneurial culture, the Head of Sales will help to shape the future of the business during an exciting phase of scale-up. This role will work closely with the Business Development Director and a broader commercial team to inform overall company strategy, while owning the delivery plan. The role is based at Aegis’ HQ and on the road, with a willingness to spend up to an average of 4 days per week travelling to customer / Aegis sites across the UK.


Principle responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with the top commercial vehicle fleets in the UK
  • Proactively initiate and manage partnerships with other key sales stakeholders and anyone else who will help to drive utilisation, energy and non-energy sales at Aegis Energy stations.
  • Build-out and lead the sales team, initially comprising at least a Business Development Manager and Sales Associate. This includes running the hiring processes; setting team objectives; setting and managing team KPIs and motivating your team to deliver on Aegis’ goals.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Development Director to develop plans for securing customers for our first stations.
  • Provide input into the Senior Leadership Team to evolve the Aegis business plan and sales strategy over time.
  • With your team, maintaining key customer collateral to educate and persuade fleet customers and industry partners about low and zero emission fuels and Aegis’ offering.
  • Ensure that all customer engagements are accurately reported within CRM.


Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or equivalent professional accreditation or equivalent practical work experience in relevant industry
  • At least seven years of experience in relation to the principal duties and responsibilities for the role set out above, including business development, lead-generation, marketing, or sales
