Role Description


We’re on the lookout for a creative and driven Marketing and Operations Specialist to join our team remotely on an initial contract basis, with the potential for a permanent role if it’s a great fit for both sides. You’ll be working directly with the Founder and will be the mastermind behind our market planning, marketing campaigns, market research, and PR efforts, driving the growth and visibility of our Gas Refill Programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a start-up environment and is excited to contribute to a rapidly growing business.


This year, CO2 YOU is expanding its offerings into the B2B market, so experience and understanding of both D2C (Direct-to-Consumer) and B2B (Business-to-Business) marketing channels will be highly beneficial. In this role, you'll use your marketing expertise to build and execute strategies across social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Google. You'll also dive into email marketing with tools like Klaviyo. Strong copywriting skills are essential, as you'll be crafting compelling messages that resonate with our audience.


You’ll manage a diverse team of specialists, including those focused on Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other key digital marketing areas. Your leadership will guide these experts to achieve outstanding results. Additionally, you'll oversee third-party agencies and partners, finding and recommending new ones as needed. Budget management and negotiation skills will be crucial, as you’ll be handling marketing budgets and ensuring effective use of resources.


Experience with major campaigns, including tube, bus, and billboard advertising, is a plus. Familiarity with data platforms to track and optimize marketing effectiveness will help us make data-driven decisions. Being familiar with AI tools like ChatGPT and other AI learning technologies will also be advantageous, as you’ll be leveraging these tools to enhance our marketing strategies.


The role will also involve work outside of the marketing scope, such as assisting with operations and sales. This position would suit an all-rounder with a specialism in marketing. Expect some travel, including working at trade shows from time to time. Flexibility and comfort with taking on various tasks as needed are essential.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in market planning, marketing management, and market research
  • Expertise in sales, public relations, and copywriting

  • Good understanding of Shopify and its apps
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Interest in sustainability is a plus
  • Strong negotiating skills for budget management
  • Experience directing video production and photography, both professional in-studio and with mobile devices
  • Comfort with content creation, ensuring high-quality and consistent output
  • Entrepreneurial streak and excitement about working hard in a small team
  • Willingness to assist with operations and sales tasks
  • Flexibility to handle different types of work as needed
  • Ability to travel occasionally and work at trade shows
  • Must have a valid driver’s license


Compensation


  • Salary: £55k-£65k, depending on experience
