The Planning Manager will play a pivotal role in driving project planning and scheduling activities, optimizing resource utilisation, and mitigating risks to achieve project objectives effectively.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to develop comprehensive project plans and schedules tailored to the unique requirements of mega dam projects, aligning with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Resource Allocation: Work closely with project teams to identify resource needs and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials efficiently to support project milestones and deadlines.
  • Risk Management: Assess project risks and uncertainties, develop risk mitigation strategies, and implement proactive measures to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Utilise project management tools and techniques to monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Schedule Optimization: Analyse project schedules and identify opportunities for optimisation, such as resource leveling and critical path analysis, to enhance project efficiency and accelerate delivery timelines.
  • Change Control: Evaluate proposed changes to project scope, schedule, and resources, assess their impact on project objectives, and facilitate change management processes to ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain open and transparent communication channels with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to foster collaboration, resolve issues promptly, and address stakeholder concerns effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate knowledge sharing sessions and lessons learned workshops to capture best practices, identify process improvements, and enhance project planning methodologies for future projects.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
  • Proven track record of 15+ years in project planning and scheduling, with 5+ years working on large scale infrastructure or energy projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
