Our client, a leader in specialised chemistry solutions, is seeking a motivated and experienced Sales Executive or Business Development Manager to join their team. In this key role, you will work closely with the sales team to drive business growth, identify new opportunities, and build lasting client relationships. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong background in the chemical industry and proven sales experience. Initially, the role will focus on supporting the expansion of the sales team and ensuring team members reach full proficiency. Once the team is established, the role will transition to a more business development-oriented focus, prioritizing growth and new client acquisition.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement strategies for achieving sales targets in specialised chemical products and services.
  • Identify and engage with new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotech, and related sectors.
  • Manage and grow an existing client base while expanding the customer portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients to ensure satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Proactively seek new leads and convert them into profitable business, fostering new opportunities aligned with growth objectives.
  • Present technical solutions that meet specific customer requirements.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients and suppliers to support business progress.
  • Handle technical inquiries received by phone and email.
  • Ensure clear communication with clients on delivery timelines and expectations.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, operations, and technical teams to ensure seamless order delivery.
  • Contribute as part of a dynamic technical sales team, helping team members reach their full potential.


Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales or business development within the chemical industry, especially in pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.
  • Strong understanding of chemical sales and customer needs.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to address client concerns and identify innovative solutions.
  • Works well independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Able to remain focused under pressure with a positive attitude.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Fluent in English, with many customers being international.
  • Strong administrative and technical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).
