Conference Event Manager

As Conference Event Manager / Account Manager, you will create and deliver diverse and scalable conference experiences and manage their own portfolio of events. A vital component of the role is liaising directly with the conference committee on all aspects of the project and guiding the Client, including overall responsibility and accountability for the conference delivery; financial management; client management; marketing strategy; and driving delegate attendance and profitability for CPI.
More specifically:
• A key component of the role is liaising directly with the conference committee on all aspects of the project and guiding the Client.
• Attendance at committee meetings to include all pre-meeting preparation and follow up.
• Overseeing the setup and management of online registration of bookings.
• Working with our programme team in the setup and management of online abstract submissions.
• Updating the Director and CEO on the progress of your conferences both financially and logistically.
• Attending and presenting at sales presentations as the appointed account manager.
• Venue and catering management
• Audiovisual equipment, staging, lighting and production
• Evening functions include staging, lighting, entertainment, décor
• Excursions and tours
• Exhibition and sponsorship management, sales and fundraising
• Management of hotel allocations, including negotiating contracts
• Working with our in-house design team on; brand design, writing brochure/website content
• Marketing and promotion of the events
• Branding of the venue including set design, indoor and outdoor signage
• Event materials • Creative programme design and speaker management
• Putting together conference and event budgets, budget management, cash flow management and financial control of each conference/event.
• Overseeing the delegate services team member on designing, building, and managing the online registration system for their assigned projects, including invoicing and credit control.
• Accommodation management, including hotel allocations, negotiating the contracts and rates.
• Liaising directly with agents, direct clients or representatives on all aspects of the project.
• Assisting with the organisation, coordination and implementation of site inspections and fam trips.
• Work on-site during your own events and events of other Account Managers.
• Assisting the Senior Management Team in the overall growth and development of the Company.
• Ad hoc duties as required

Skills Required
- Third level qualification in event management, business administration, or project management is essential
- Minimum five years’ experience
- Exceptional verbal, written, communication, presentation skills and stakeholder engagement
- Solutions focussed, with the ability to quickly problem-solve
- Commercially astute
- Assimilates complex information quickly
- Will have curiosity and the desire to learn about our clients
