RHC (Rachel Harrison Communications) is a creative communications agency with offices in London, New York & LA and a focus on hospitality, spirits, F&B and travel. We are looking to grow our team in the UK by hiring an Account Manager to work across our luxury travel/hospitality accounts in our London office. This is a hybrid role.
This role will lead client accounts (internally and with clients), serving as an expert voice for clients alongside our senior team, managing teams on media relations day-to-day and delivering results, proactively pitching, writing media strategies, writing creative releases and pitches and meeting press. With some clients, you will be working internationally with our US colleagues on clients with dual market scopes. The role will also be involved in new business development.
The ideal candidate will have excellent media relations skills and a strong and wide base of top-tier consumer and trade press contacts in F&B and/or travel media in the UK. They will have a proven track record of managing and executing strategic, integrated media campaigns and managing junior team members, as well as agency experience with hospitality and/or luxury travel brands in the UK. We are looking for someone with a minimum of three years experience pitching media in the UK.
We are looking for someone creative and enthusiastic who lives and breathes eating & drinking in London and travelling the world, with a genuine passion for one, or both, industries and a keen understanding of the UK media landscape.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads proactive and reactive media pitching; successfully pitches stories and meets with/manage media to deliver high quality results with minimal input from senior team leaders
- Lead multiple accounts as primary day-to-day client contact and senior advisor with professionalism, ensuring deliverables and deadlines are met
- Supports on the creation of meaningful and impactful comprehensive public relations strategies and plans.
- Seek out creative ideas and opportunities to identify and cultivate story ideas for media pitching
- Assist with the creation of key assets for accounts including press releases, fact sheets, biographies, messaging, media alerts, agendas and recaps
- Act as final review for key assets for accounts including press releases, fact sheets, biographies, messaging, media alerts, agendas and recaps.
- Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions
- Work with senior team to support on annual client strategies and plans, advising on media relations strategy
- Support on the creation of new business proposals and actively participating in new business presentations
- Support on partnership opportunities on behalf of clients
- Consistently contact and meet with media to build relationships
- Support on event planning and execution providing needed resources for projects.
- Manage quality of work on multiple accounts with professionalism and support team leaders. Delegate effectively, setting clear expectations and deadlines to junior team members.
- Follow industry and client category trends and regularly share insights, thoughts and key findings as it relates to clients and competitors
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
- Have a strong attention to detail
- Be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple accounts with ease and professionalism, delegate effectively, set clear expectations and deadlines and work under pressure
- Be able to write creatively with experience crafting assets (press releases, bios, media alerts, etc). and being proactive and nimble with angles
- Have enthusiasm and passion for the culinary, drinks or travel industries in London and the UK
- Lead by example, demonstrating a proven strong work ethic
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of experience working in a public relations agency in the UK (London preferred)
- Must have food and drink or travel media experience - lifestyle will be considered if other experience is clear
SALARY RANGE
- DOE
